The writing around the marshal stave reads as follows:
Let the people of Seagirt know that for many fine summers and harsh winters 蔡天普 has constantly given gracious service to our Barony. Such dedication deserves acknowledgement, therefore we, Wulfgar and Aniko, Baron and Baroness of Seagirt gladly award our subject the Order of the Seagull, given this 27 day of August, Anno Societatis LVII.
Blank spaces were left for Athelina Grey to add cherry blossoms for Ts'ai Tien-p'u. The ends are painted as per marshal stave requirements.
